    Stocking a C.A.R.E.S Tank

Mass fish and game tends to not to involve it's self in sub species. If it is species is deemed illegal all of them are. As for Cares, my suggestion would be to go to one of Boston Aquarium Society meetings, If I remember correct 3rd Monday of the month at The Aquarium.

    Cichlids for small tanks?

Apistograma Panduro... tons of attitude in a small package

    Yoyo loach as snail control.

Tank is way to small to use loaches for snail controll, a loach large enough to do the job would not have enough room to swim. Not to mention they should always be in a group.

    HELP SHRIMPYS WITH LOACHES?!

Bumble bee cats? Or the gobies? If they are the cats i am thinking of they will get big enough to eat a good number of the sp you have. They are a 3-5 inch pimilodes type cat. Anything that is under 1/3 their size is lunch.

    HillStream Loaches

I would suggest moving the beta if you add the current, what hillstreams are you thinking of? Sewella types could work, not ideal but...could work. Schistura sp would be tough to keep in that small of a tank. I am on my phone I have not learned how to copy and paste links, if you look at my...

Best loach for planted discus tank?

Tough combo, the loaches that are best suited for discus type tank tend tobe more active than ideal for discus. Off the top of my head unfortunatly I can not think of a very good option. As fish said above striata may be the best choice. They need a group and may still be to active for...

How to Catch a Garra sp

Put a net in the tank, with their favorite food in it. Have the open side towards the closest glass when it goes in slide net to glass till flat then pull straight up. Good luck.

    My zebra danios spawned.......

Congrats, the real trick with most danio sp, is to hide eggs and fry from the adults. Java moss is great for eggs. If you can set up a second tank and get multible clumps of java moss. You switch out the java moss every few days. Similar to killi or other mop spawners. If you wish to set up...

Zebra Loach Acting Strange / Like He's Dying

Check with the south american cichlid members, there was a vitimin that we used to help heal injuries. Unfortunatly I can not remember if it was a,c, or e. As for the odd behavior could be due to the injury, They are a schooling fish so an injured fish is a threat to the rest of the school...

    Is this too much flow?

Fishorama's post wasn't there when I started mine lol.

    Is this too much flow?

10 times tank volume per hour should not be to rough for clowns. If it seems the fish are stressing to much I would just put a current break in, with either a rock or a pice of drift wood. Botines tend to like a little less current than say the hill streams, or riverine loaches. But in my opion...

Has anyone made one of these? River Tank Manifold!

I am suprised I missed this thread. I have three. I have yet to try Sploke's set up but... (I plan on makeing it soon). I have 1 tank wich is similar Martin's design and then 2 with my own. The point of the manifold is to create a continous flow, anything that dose that, wether it be by...

Fishorama, the first time I thought the same thing but they dug out the depresion in the sand. And then they covered up the depresion, very similar to Jim Power's discription of L. disparis breeding.
