    Big Giveaway!!!! ;o(

Sucks to hear the LFS guy basically suckered you in and dumped in that many fish in that short while. That tank would look so sick with SPS and halides.

Try Jumbokrill. I've actually gotten mine to eat nori, lol...and he loves it

    Protein skimmer

I agree with noskimmer. A skimmer would really be essential to a FO system. A mechanical filter may be able to remove a lot of the dirt, but unless you clean it out often it will lead to higher nitrates. Will there be a DSB in the tank? You could get an ASM G-4+ for $415, although I only see...

    Lighting Question

I wouldn't put any SPS under PCs. They don't have that much intensity. If you plan on going SPS you should go for T5s or MH.

Thanks for all the comments. I feel that I should make a new thread and post about the progress. I think I will later on

    Lighting cycle/power strip configuration

I used to manually turn on my T5s then run my MH's on a timer that didn't even have a stop pin, so I ended up turning off the lights manually for a while. couple months later I received a free digital timer which really saved me some time although I still had to manually turn my lights on and...

    Need help with AQUAPOD!

I don't know if you could fit it but a Bak-Pak could work nicely. Had one on my 20g last year and it did a pretty nice job of taking out things.

What other model skimmers I can look at that's only 24" in height

An ATi BM250 would be perfect as they are short and pretty efficient. Many people run them and really stand behind theirs. ASMs? I wouldn't consider them that great. I have no idea why they overpriced them...saw a few of them at a shop and wasn't very impressed with the materials used to...

    Nikko's 240 Gallon Tank

Been a while since I updated this thread. Well, I've been planning on getting a Bubble King 300 External by Feb 2008... or a Reelo Dart skimmer. Bulbs will be changed soon, maybe to 14.5k Megachromes or 14K ushios. I still need to get my CA reactor, which will most likely be a Koralin 1502...

    This is an Expensive hobby...lol

I feel sorry for you guys where LR/LS is expensive. Socal is an awesome place to live if you keep marine tanks. LFS's can sell semi-cured rock from $3-4/lb and if youre lucky $2/lb during a sale. I was able to score a good 150-200lbs of LR and 200+lbs of LS for only 300 bucks from a fellow...

    Possible ich, should I wait???

Try feeding your fish food that has been soaked in crushed garlic. The garlic will help boost their immune system.

    100 gal club, filtration?

In the Large tank forum over at RC others with large tanks sometimes don't actually get 1lb+/gallon since they take into account the corals that will be growing and taking space. Also with more room for corals that leaves you more time by not having to frag things all the time.

    100 gal club, filtration?

50lbs is a good amount to start off with. Some people recommend 1-1.5lbs/gallon, but it should actually be less if you want to get corals. You could get away with smaller water changes but more frequently. I say swap the bakpak for an octopus or aquaeuro...the bakpak a so-so skimmer and I...
