    Big Plans!

I think I've mentioned we taught our "common" plec to "wink for a tabby" (eye roll for a Tabimin tablet). He would do at least once a day although we igored him after 2 tabs.

    My tanks

Yeah, I see, lol. I'm going to the newish lfs next week to see if he'll host our plant club again soon...& if he has or can order sarawaks. His suppliers are likely the same as all my area lfs. Maybe on a different ordering schedule? I may try to play my old lady card ;) It works sometimes for...

    Big Plans!

That first pic of Neowise, he's a little on the tubby side, but back to his handsome self later. Hammerhead is looking good but his eye in getting BIG! Spotty is just all fins gone wild! Ugg is a calmly normal among the flashy goldfish. Although he's getting some more pectoral spine things...

    55 Gallon River Setup

Love the corys, of course, & the behind the tank stick does look good. I'm sorry to say the first sponge is now looking sorta spit-like. Is the new sponge different or just different wood & lighting? Anyway, they're cool! The apistos look nice. The "female-ish" 1 seems more chubby in a girly...

Oh yes, I thought I was clear on the differences between wild "novel" or "unusual" marking variations on clown loaches & those awful hybrids...the worst is the first New loach pics.. - Page 2 - Loaches Online Forum go to last post Czech "histrionica" update. - Loaches Online Forum Botia...

Adventures in Fishkeeping or A Fish Tale

Oh, I totally agree but on a much smaller scale, lol. Our fish often come from rivers, not just a few feet of a river...a wimpy flow no matter how fast it seems in our BIG tanks, tons of rock to change the flow patterns...Little areas of almost no flow, swirling places that only a few fish can...

Adventures in Fishkeeping or A Fish Tale

jake, your tanks are way outside of any of my experiences. I've never done a sump or an 8ft tank. But I'd love to read about how you've done it! I want to learn even if I'll never do it personally. & yes, our nonfish lives need some attention too. I'm on taxes ATM, spring cleaning & setting up a...

I've never had a "Spot", a "Jigsaw Puzzle" or "Partial Line" clown, whatever, but I don't dislike like them. I almost think we should post the awful hybrid pics so others can see how really bad hybrids can be. I couldn't find any available pics of "dolphin nosed", round nosed or anything...

I think, but am not sure, they were called TR for tank raised. I was thinking I would keep clowns 1 more time but not those! I know some people love odd markings on their fish & collect them. These were not just that kind... they were hideous!

Did you ever see the clown loaches with round short noses ~10 years ago? Maybe that's 1 of the "issues"?

Adventures in Fishkeeping or A Fish Tale

Sorry jake, it was only a slight fun suggestion. It seems you were almost offended by my idea. I'm not "young" anymore either...It seems you overreacted, I won't do it again....

Hybrids almost never happen in the wild. Fish can tell who is their same species. But in our tanks or commercial breeder pond fish will breed with a "close enough" fish, usually the same genus but sometime a near enough relative to produce fry...whether they can reproduce can be iffy. Varieties...

Adventures in Fishkeeping or A Fish Tale

jake, you might be a "next breeder" of TTA's B & W hypancistrus, several species ...you've got that BIG new fish room & you like to breed fish, that's always fun...If that's something you'd like to do, well, contact him soon! He's getting out of our hobby slowly, ASAP!!

New to forum - how to sell 16' custom aquarium?

You might look at our sister site Monster Fish Keepers. They're more likely to roll with that amazing big tank than we are here. Where in CA are you located?

Oh, if the seller is an "almost friend" doing a favor, it does change things as far as $$ goes...but still very disappointing. That pic of the Imperial Tropicals geo. winemilleri looks (whee!) very nice. No wonder you'd like to keep them! I did NOT ask the seller's name or company. I asked if...

    Easy Plants

What's your hurry? Just leave them for now. Maybe in a couple weeks? You want a rock solid cycle that can go with slight changes in parameters. Wait a bit...

I should have known by your link. Sorry, I was comparing dot sizes & shapes. Is the seller offering to "make it right"? Good 1s often will but it might involve a bunch of BS that may or may not be worth the hassles. I know you often buy cool, rare fish & readily pay for them. But good sellers...

    Easy Plants

The tank is only 2 gallons. You've seen at least 4 shrimp but there could be more. Those test # look good! I think I'd just let it ride for now...especially if you have to travel often. I know I've mentioned that mixing different color shrimp can cause them to eventually turn out brown &...

    55 Gallon River Setup

Nice pics as usual! How much smaller is the yellowish fish? Both top & bottom fins look shorter & rounded. There's only so far males can go to pretend to be female. But "she" should be yellower by now I think... jake may be right about the differences of the variations. He's very experienced...
