I went down to the LFS this afternoon and found some blue wag platies. Got home and did some research on them and couldn't really find much out about them online. Just wondering if any of the good folks here at AC have any experience with them? I do have red wag platies in my planted 55 and...
Here's a link to Pond Eco. We use their equipment all the time for residential ponds/waterfalls/waterfeatures. It's good stuff and you can customize your liner and underlayment sizes. This will give you a better idea of cost, when and if you decide to go for it.

When you want it done?? It's not that far from Lincoln to Chicago.:)
For something like this your looking at about $6000. This would include labor, materials, equipment, and having the electrician run power out to the pump. Adding a pond to the mix would probably add another $1500 to...
Once the siphon is started you can just shut off the tap water. It drains pretty slow but it gives you time to trim plants, scrub algae, or do other misc. things without wasting a bunch of freshwater.
Spend the extra money and have an electrician come out and run a line to your pond. Typically the wire or conduit needs to be 18" or deeper to meet code. They will set a post and a GFI grounded outlet with a cover. This will reduce moisture in the electrical lines and will keep the pump and...
Just wanted to post some pics of a water feature I built a couple of years ago. It's amazing how quickly things can change. This would make an excellent fall into a 1000+ gallon pond
Enjoy
I'd upgrade your liner to a 45 mil UV stable product with some sort of underlayment. I've torn apart many of water features/ponds that didn't use these as a base. Pulling out 2 or more ton of river rock and boulders then restacking it all is not fun at. You may be able to find liner and...
Here's a picture of the Alternanthera reineckii I found in town, and some Ludwigia peruensis purchased on Ebay. Thanks for the link Charles and cfsinc but I think I'm done buying plants (for now anyways:grinyes:)
Sorry for the blurry pics but they should get the job done.
Well, no luck finding any red Ludwigia in town. I did however find some Alternanthera reineckii. Slow grower, but seems to be doing quite well in the tank. I'll post some pics when I get a chance.

I use these pumps for our water features that we install at clients homes. They also come with a 3 year warranty.
Thanks everybody for the great suggestions. I think I'm going to go with the ludwigia I like the colors and the bolder texture. Hopefully I can find some at the LFS.
I recently upgraded my lighting on my 55g to a 4x65 watt Coralife fixture that runs 10000K and 6700K bulbs. I use dry ferts and pressurized CO2 injection. I enjoy the sea o' green plants in the tank but would like one I could use as a focal point. It's a community tank that contains angels and...
