    Vintage Aquariums

So ran across this thread when searching for info on my find this weekend. Complete 2.5g. Unfortunately (and as expected) it failed the leak test. Picked up the whole lot for $7. Tossed the carbon and filter floss though. If the floss wasn't gummed up, I woulda just rinsed it and kept it...

FS Plant Grab Bags - Multiple Varieties - VA - Shipping/PU

I'm doing some big cleaning and putting together a quantity of (3) mystery grab bags. Please don't ask about the .sp in the packs as that would ruin the fun. But...I'm pretty sure you won't be disappointed with the variety. These will be a mixture of low to high light plants; stems to crypts...

    What are these things????/

Do they have spiral shells? If so, possibly Gyraulus sp. Another possibility could be a Limpet. But without pics, hard to say.

    Moss wall time!

I'm not a fan of using JM as a wall. Christmas, Peacock, Subwassertang and even Fisidens are good options just to name a few.

    Substrate Advice

Safe-T-Sorb (oil dry). Great substrate for plants (especially if you go high tech) while keeping a natural look about it.

Back from deployment - Time to rebuild

That was a bit funny. Here I was trying to get the bag and the lady said a couple of times that she had to walk it up. I did get a chuckly out of it. My TT shrimp dropper her eggs yesterday. I kind of expected that considering what they have been through and then the recovery process. Four...

    NEW STINGRAY!

Me personally, I would stay with pool sand. There are two different colors that I have come across. Lighthouse is a more natural color. The other is white. Forget the name of the company off the top of my head. I'll have a look when the lights come on this morning.

Back from deployment - Time to rebuild

Thank you all. Inards are a bit out of whack after my burger gorging but I think that goes with the territory. Not to mention well worth it! :) I'm sure there are others out here who have been in that position as well. Started hacking away at the tanks. A couple of surprises today. In one...

Cory eggs exposed to air....Will they be ok?

Crapola! I was trimming in the C. pygmy tank just now. Before I started, I looked around the best I could and didn't find anything. After plucking some plants to bring upstairs to de-snail, I found (2) cory eggs! Dang! I quickly ran the stem back downstairs and put it under water. I would...

    DIY CO2 made easy

After reading through this again, I didn't update it with another modification to the recipe. I tinkered around with it a bit and modified the sugar portion of it. My new sugar recipe is 1 cup regular cane sugar and now I'm using 3/4 cup light brown sugar as well. The bit of molasses adds a...
