Want to Buy | Shell Dwellers Multis or Speciosus | $25 | St. Louis Missouri | Shipping Only

Good luck! I've been searching for multies for a few months now. They used to be all over places like Aquabid...seems like maybe people have moved on to more "interesting" shell dwellers. Finally bucked up and bought a group from an online distributor this week.

Want to Buy | Buy | $8 | North central Florida | Pickup and Able to Ship

Would a mod be able to edit this so that the "Buy" is replaced with "Neolamprologus multifasciatus"? Hadn't used the new classified system before and must have missed that line filling in info. Thanks.

    denitrification

Maybe I'm just not understanding the problem well enough, but how much water would you need where RO/DI wouldn't be an option? The units do not need to constantly be running. They are a big investment on the front end but worth it.

Nice pickup! I prefer 'em to the males myself.

    Bolivian Rams 75g

Agree, they seem like good additions so long as you're not currently pushing the tank bioload-wise.

    Low tech 75g stocking suggestion

Rosette plants are the ones that have multiple stems converging at a single rooting point (e.g. Crypts), vs. "stem" plants (e.g. Cabomba) that are singular.

    Metal Halide for Planted Tank

The color/K rating isn't necessarily the spectral output as it's based off of what the human eye perceives (and most of the blue needed for corals comes from actinics, I believe). I've never had a problem using it but there are a lot of plants I've never attempted to keep... Some bulb brands...

    Low tech 75g stocking suggestion

I've never had a problem with corys in very hard/alkaline water. Maybe the issue is the source? Does your LFS use the same water? Loaches might be a better bet, or Synodontis as tanker suggested.

when is cycle ready for mbuna ?

I think you're fine. Just keep a close eye on the params after adding the fish and do a big water change if there are any residual spikes. Even if that happens, it should catch up pretty quickly to handle the new bioload.

    Low tech 75g stocking suggestion

Maybe some more activity for the bottom? A nice group of Corys or loaches would be nice. So many different species out there, so hard to give specific suggestions.

    Its been about a month...

Just checking, but did you switch nitrATE with nitrITE in your post? Looks like a nice setup at the moment. Hopefully the comets stay away from the plants! I probably wouldn't add anything else, to be honest. Nothing can replace user maintenance, not even your "cleaner crew" fish, as people...

    Metal Halide for Planted Tank

10,000 K can work just as well for plants, tends to be more of an individual preference in that range. Sometimes the lower end looks to yellow for people's taste; sometimes the other end is too blue-ish (I've always liked a mixture when I can). I'd be most worried about heat as MH are...

    Best All-In-One Nano Tank

Eh, unless you really like the frame-less look you could probably get a 10 gallon and some equipment for the same price. Would have a much better footprint to work with as well...assuming that space isn't a major issue.

    Best All-In-One Nano Tank

I've found plants like Anubias and java fern to be good low-light plants for small tanks. The former has several small varieties that would work well.

    Combining two tanks into one

75 gallons of water is over 600 pounds, not including the actual glass, substrate, etc. Would NOT trust a dresser to handle that, but up to you :)
