Heya.
I haven't had time to build out all the projects I had been planning, and I've got a ton of supplies for tanks I can't build right now. I really need to clear some space, and would love to see this stuff go to some new homes. There are some items I could possibly ship, but I am...
looking good. don't forget to really thoroughly soak and cure your mortar before filling with substrate, soil, plants etc. I would - at the very least - soak this in water for a few weeks with frequent water changes. if you search around, there are various methods for making sure your mortar is...
just thought I'd pop into this thread and say to people who are interested in using cork like this... this tank is still holding up. The cork is soft in places and certainly creates a little extra mulm from the surface breaking down, but it has not detached from the glass and still can hold...
The crabs and fish are doing great, but I gotta tell you, I'm really excited to SEND BACON TO SPACE

Spread the word!
the problem is that most of the small inhabitants that are good for tropical paludariums are either territorial and dangerous to others, or defenseless.
you could have frogs with fish, but the fish will likely eat the eggs or tadpoles, and deep water can lead to drowning for some frogs.
You...
I'd say you can go even lower, but even that inch or so makes a big difference visually. The ripple effect is a good good thing. It will help keep the water from getting nasty on the surface and will create more humidity in the enclosure. The more ripple the better IMO. I originally designed my...
because there are very few terrestrial plants that look right without more air space, and your viewing angle down is better when the water is lower. With less water you'll be able to grow more lush green moss and liverworts as well, where they'll be kept moist by the waterline without being too...
great stuff is really only great if you put a lot of work into coating it. otherwise it looks like shiny plastic underwater. I've used it in tanks, and it's safe, but I've always used it in hidden places.
kyeung28: I have it growing in 2 tanks. In my 30 gallon, I have a few dozen stems that are 18-24" long. In my 20 gallon tall, the rotala covers the entire surface of the tank, in a tight packed mat that is about 8" deep. So, if you wanted to use clippings to plant out a big tank, there's probaby...
I can supply as much as you want. Large quantities of stems with nice red tops. grown without co2 or ferts. Very easy growers in high light.
Take some! let's say, enough to fill a dumpster for $15 bucks. 2 dumpsters for $20.
will also trade for shrimp or anubias.
Cork does break down constantly, but it's not that fast. I have a 20 gallon cork tank (might be in my sig) still running today. the surface of the cork is silty and soft, but it's still holding it's shape after years. Some pieces of cork weather better than others. I think it's important to use...
Nice stock, beautiful red chili endlers. from this same stock http://mellowvision.com/2011/03/23/chili-endlers/
get em while they're red hot.
$15 trios / 4 trios for $50 - 5 bucks off if we've met in person before. Will trade for high quality shrimp.
delivery possible, within reason...
