    feeding nass snails

When my system was new and there wasn't build up in the sand for them to feed on they would come out to eat.. Now that the system is established I hardly ever see them any more. About the only time I find them is if I go digging for them. JME edit: BTW I have the large Tonga Nassarius Snails.

10000 gph... did you add an extra zero somewhere by mistake ????? Can you even keep water in the tank??? Wow.. Amp you have to have the most turnover I've EVER read about.. Seriously. I mean I don't doubt you.. but wow... The top of my tank ripples with two k3's and an occational maxijet...

Powerheads, is there ever too much flow?

I've seen Powerheads on the back wall.. And in quite a few tanks I've looked at. In fact I have one on my back wall as well. But I agree with Grins in that if you are going to have an SPS tank I've heard that they actually do better with the uber increased flow rates.

    surface movement

For me I think it would be that my tank has more exposure to the outside world so to speak than my sump. My sump only has the opening from the back of the stand itself. That will change if I can ever get started on my project and will probably have to create surface aggitation in my sump as...

what is the smallest tank for a tang?

Minimum size for Yellow tang would be a 75 but I honestly after having one would suggest even larger because mine liked to swim.. A lot.. Hippos even more so and I wouldn't put them in anything less than an 8 ft long tank personally. Sailfins the same as the hippos as they get large like the...

    Look what I just bought!!

I don't know Ace.. With GlassCages larger tanks I have heard horror stories about the lack of support, breakage and a lot of other things that really make me leery of their tanks in general. I don't know if something as small as a 57 gallon would be as bad as some of the stuff that I've heard...

    Overflow/return pump

I am sure you could, but it would probably take forever.. You'll need other tools as well.. A drill, large drill bit etc. If you don't have them it will cost you more to buy the tools than to buy the alternative on lifereef. Either that or hit one of your reef club guys up for help..

    Overflow/return pump

A dremel is a small rotary tool that has different attachments that will allow you to sand, grind, drill, etc etc etc. If you don't have one it would be probably cheaper to see is someone else who has one can help... or if someone can make it for you for like a beer or two.. ;)
