When I buy used live rock I will usually leave it in a garbage can of sw with pump and heater for at least 6 weeks incase of ick. No light or food. You can always throw extra in sump/fudge.

Do a water change and use your old water to wash rock. 2 birds with one stone.

The orange home depot buckets worked fine for me till I built up enough salt buckets.

Awsome idea. Any pics of suspended rock in someones tank? a nice suspended bridge off pegged rock along the back would leave a bunch of swim room since they wont need a base to rest on and a great coral area.
