hitch hiking pest ...can anyone tell me what it is?

that's a lot of 'em. I'm thinking either water fleas (daphnia) or those little copepods. Perfectly normal but they are hitchhikers like you said. If you have fish I'm pretty sure they'd love to eat them.

tap water with peat moss, a fairly larg chunk of malaysian driftwood, and play sand substrate (if that affects the water in anyway).

I want to see my cories!

having the rocks and plants gave them places to hide and relax, or they're still adjusting to the new surroundings. I guess this made them chill out a bit and just be lazy lol. actually, I have sterbai that are really shy in my planted tank. Kinda wished I saw them more often but they act...

    Help sexing my blue ram

looks like a longfin variant of a blue ram, so it's going to be a bit difficult to sex until it gets into breeding condition. still young, but the long pelvic fins make me think it's a male.

    co2 bottle size for 55g?

I have a 10lb on my 55g. I've had it filled in January and it's still going. I also have a 5lb that usually lasted about 4 months at 1-2 bps. Generally buy as big as you can afford and/or fit where you want to put it. a 10lb is the maximum size I can fit under my stand.
