So, id like to put down for 17 stems, plus the shipping so its close to 20 bucks total. but would like to see the pics.
Kinda sucks you had to rebuild after a BBA plague. I had to do that twice. wasn't fun at all.
working off of the design of skippy filter, i used the usual plastic grating like they did and instead of pot scubbers, i used 9000ft of poly strapping.

its pretty cheap, you can sometimes get it cheaper on...
you got pics of that? mine kinda look the same but thats porportinal to their shell size.
congrats on the babies btw. soon you will have more than you will know to do with cept to sell them off.
oh. My snails will eat each other if they are desperate. found that out when i was on vacation...
sorry for bringing up an old thread, but has anyone been able to determine between male and female assassin snails?
ive noticed lately alot of my assassin snails will get together into this massive mound i guess they are getting "busy"... some of my snails got brown stripes whereas others...
Pidgen Meds! Wow never would have thought it would be there too but at the same time not really surprised. And all this time i was looking for Pig wormer since that's all Ive seen so far from that loches.com page.
Good start thanks for the info.
So after fighting a loosing battle when my angels came down with parasites, and LFS meds don't work, more reading has brought me to a few wormers:
flubendazole(flubenol)
fenbendazole(panacure)
levamisole
After looking around on the internet, i haven't been able to find anywhere that sells...
Did you ever think to use clear pvc pipe? I i remember looking somewhere, you can get like 3 or 4in clear pvc pipe with all the appropriate fittings. then you can use the cement for welding Plexiglas to make sure it stays clear when gluing. Just a thought i had when i saw it and when you...
If you want to adjust the flow, you can always tee off the line and with a ball valve, control the flow to the UV and at the same time not sacrifice the max flow of your filter.
old post, but i thought id bring it back up as i was seeing if anyone has updates on ozone generators on freshwater tanks. i personally am on the fence on either UV or ozone....
so far ozone might be better in the long run as you dont have to buy new bulbs and such. both kill bad bacteria. dont...
Is it normal for nerites to crawl out of the aquarium and into your house?
I got some nerites the other day, 2 zebra and 2 green tiger ones.
one zebra happily eats, the other just kinda hangs there...
the 2 green tiger ones disapeared the first day, and this was last friday. last night...
glass or acrylic?
if its glass, and your nail can catch on the scratches when you run across it, then it might be too deep to polish out without some major work.
if you cant feel the scratches, you can use cerium oxide like i did with my tank with some water etching that was in a hand-me...
Thats the first ive seen of it, its pretty cool looking. I was really partial to their Osaka line of tanks too. this one just looks really hard to take care of. Its too bad that style wont fit in my apartment even though it also has contemporary elements.
Has anyone heard/used them for aquaria? the only difference between these and others sold for actual aquaria is this has 5micron prefilters instead of 1micron. that and this guy comes with a storage tank and a 5th stage.

Im assuming it didn't work like i described earlier with the co2 bubbles just going out the other side without really dissolving. prally your best bet to just go vertical now and save you some cash
My reactor is kinda built like Rex's plan cept for at the bottom i used a T fitting and added a...
It may or may not work, depending on how long that reactor section is and the flow rate of the powerhead.
Most DIY CO2 reactors are fairly long and are vertical in orientation to take advantage of CO2 trying to float to the top while water flows downwards to mix it all up.
Having it sideways...
i had alot of pieces too big for a pot too, i just put them in the dishwasher and let it run for a few hours. My apartment comes with one of those mechanical dial dishwashers, so i just rigged it so it wouldn't move from the wash cycle. use no soap of course.
