    Used Tank--Which is more practical?

Thanks for the feedback all, much appreciated! I'll likely going with a 29. I was wondering about that. It looks like it was made for the tank but an aquarium manufacturer, but that doesn't make it invincible by any means.

    Used Tank--Which is more practical?

Hey all! I'm in the market for a used tank. I'm potentially looking for something around 29 gallons to house an angelfish community tank (1 angel plus tetras or cories or something of the sort.) Anyhow, I found a decently priced standard tank and I also found an oceanic biocube (which is...

    Best Nano Tank?

Hey everyone! So I ended up buying both the Fluval Edge and Evolve (both on clearance/sale!) and am trying to decide which one to return. I opened them up and both look really nice, but I starting thinking about my stocking. I'm hoping to stock either a Honey Gourami or a Betta, but I'm...

    Best Nano Tank?

Hey all. I got out of the aquarium hobby for a while and am looking to get back into it again with a nano. The question is, what nano should I get?_____________________________1. Aqueon Evolve 8Pros: Great reviews, decent enough light for low light plants, attractive designCons...

    Should I take the plunge?

Hey guys, I could use a little help deciding on whether to try to start my first marine tank. :O I recently decided my 45 gallon freshwater tank is using taking up more space in my room, so I am hoping to downgrade (size wise anyway.) I was browsing craigslist and stumbled across this ad: 27...

    Using old filter media?

Thanks! I just wanted to double check since there might be dead bacteria in there cause its dry. Sounds like I'm probably okay then! :)

    Using old filter media?

Yeah its fine! I don't have new on my currently so it would be nice to just use that and get that filter going!

    Using old filter media?

Kind of confusing to explain. I'm using wet filter media from my running tank to seed with bacteria. However, I don't have enough so I need to ad other media as well. I was hoping to add the dry, old media from when the tank was set up before. Does that make sense? Is that safe?

    Using old filter media?

I recently tore down my tank, moved it to another spot in my house, and have put it back up. I used the same sand and refilled the tank and dechlorinated it. Its a big tank and I added a few danios yesterday. I plan on taking a little filter media (laden with good bacteria in there today)...

Personable Fish for a 45 Gallon?

I would consider goldies, but I'm still leaning towards a BP. Barbs are a bit smaller than I'm looking for. Leaf fish sound awesome, but I haven't seen them anywhere in my area. Salvini also look really nice! I'll have to look into them. Sounds like a fish my LFS might carry as they focus...

Personable Fish for a 45 Gallon?

Upgrading isn't really any option. I'm staying with my parents through college but my room is only 10' buy 10'. XD I haven't heard as much about goldies having as much personality. Do they really have as much?

Personable Fish for a 45 Gallon?

I think I'm probably going to go with the parrot. Any low bio-load tank mate suggestions?

Personable Fish for a 45 Gallon?

Yeah, that's rather too large. ;) Hmm...I wish they weren't so variable. Any thoughts on a couple of goldfish?

Personable Fish for a 45 Gallon?

Thanks for the reply! Nice to hear from another BP owner! They sound like such personable fish! I'm not really sure size a 46 euro is though.

Personable Fish for a 45 Gallon?

Wow...thanks for the suggestions! JDs are out then. I might look at convicts. A bit smaller than I was wanting (4 inches right?) and I don't want a breeding pair. I didn't know that there were birchirs and knife fish that were small enough for a 45? I'll look into them a bit more! And yes...
