This is somewhat incorrect, as Gymnothorax polyuranodon tends to be the only moray with any signific level of success in freshwater. Check video of neoprodigy's eels he had in FW eating pellets and everything.

your fish is fine as it is. adding another species of fish in there will not help your fish from feeling 'lonely'. your puffer is not from a species that needs to kept in a large school or anything...your fish is not lonely, or even capable of feeling so

would a juvenile dogface puffer be too aggressive (in terms of injuring) to be housed with juvenile snowflake eels in a 55 gallon tank for about a year or so? I worry it would pick at the eels. Thanks!
if you're willing to do tons of water changes I wouldnt bother removing any of the schoolers, but I'd look for aggression with the cichlids considering the tank size
