I want to thank everyone that took the time to read my lengthy Introduction.
Petluvr asked about my cancer and I am happy to say I completed treatment in April 2008 and my last tests showed no sign of the tumor.
I hope to get to know all of you better, most people I have come in contact with in...
Hello all,
I don't remember how I found Aquaria Central but I'm glad I did.
In my search for a forum with other African Cichlid people I found myself hear.
I am a newbie to Aquaria Central but not so new at keeping fish of many different kinds. I have experimented with saltwater since that is my...
You have my sympathy, although there are Racoons in my area I haven't had trouble with them. I think my dog and cats keep them away but every April - June I get Blue Heron invasions. Blue Heron's have had some expensive meals in my pond.
I would add to AfroCiclid's questions, what type of substrate are you using ?
Are you using sand or gravel substrate and are you vacuuming the substrate or just water changing.
Hello new old guy, I am a new old guy myself. I gave up on Aquarium fish a few years ago for a few reasons but not due to moving. I bought a 375 gallon Hot Tub and the extra electric bill was killing me. Then I decided to build a 3500 gallon pond in the yard and my electric bill spiked again...

Frontosa become a threat to other fish when the other fish...
I'm not a carpenter or a plumber but I am impressed with what I see.
I am most impressed by the way the whole thing will workfor water changes.
I used to have a 125gallon tank and the Python was a huge upgrade from buckets, you are taking clean-n-fill up a notch or two. Congrats and best of luck !!
I lost the original brass fittings that came with my Python and you cannot find a new one anywhere. They sell a plastic one from LEE but it isn't the same thing and doesn't fit my faucets. The one you show in the pictures looks like it would work, off to home depot.
THANKS !!
Great deal @ $15, I think I paid $40 for the one I had about 5 or 6 years ago.
I'm in New Jersey or else I would be knocking on your door to adopt him.
I have never been a big fan of South American Cichlids as you mentioned with the exception of the Green Terror for it's beauty.
As for color and the ability to keep several fish in the same tank, I like the African Cichlids but they require a totally different water chemistry.
