I don't have experience with vals, but i have that same bulb over my 20 and I can grow Amazon Sword and Wisteria just fine, I don't believe Vals are high light plants, so you should be fine. Somebody can feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Where would be an easy place to find these ingredients? If I get 200+ balls out of that I'm definately doing that in place of the Seachem Flourish Tabs that cost 7$ for only 10.

Wow that video made it seem a heck of a lot easier than i thought it was going to be. I think i may just go right into pressurized and screw DIY, those regulator setups are a lot cheaper than i thought.

Not sure how, but I'm 100% sure Amazon Sword can be grown emersed. The plant that I put into my aquarium slowly shed all of its leaves as it grew new, more slender and totally different looking ones, meaning that the previous leaves were probably from its emersed form.

As of right now i have only one 15W Flora-Glo bulb over my 20 gallon. Although I am about to switch to 2x24W t5 HO :headbang2:. I saw a big difference after i switched out my regular flourescent with this bulb. I'm not sure what that 17W is doing for your tank, but i know the Flora-Glo did help...

Yes it does have a CO2 ladder. I didn't think it could put out that much either, but on the otherside would it put out enough?

the tank has been set up for 5 months, and those flourish tabs are indeed root tabs. i put one at the base of my sword and one at the base of my wisteria.
