I have a 210G that has been up and running for 5 years now. Most of the fish currently in the tank are 5+ years old and as some have died over the years I have not restocked them. A very busy schedule the last few years unfortunately put my hobby on the backburner and other than feeding and...
I am looking for bulb ideas for dimming my lighting a bit. I have 2* 36” light fixtures across my 210G tank that I feel are a little too bright. The fish tend to become far less active when they are on and most of my bottom feeders go into hiding until they are off. I don’t have any live...
I have been looking at replacing my filtration on my 210G with an Ocean Clear canister. I am looking for some advice on how to best configure them. Should I look at two canisters? Would the UV option be worthwhile? Pump recommendations? Thanks!
I have 4 around the 6" mark in my 210g with a mix of other fish. They are super active but generally peaceful. If a Tetra swims by turing feeding time they definitly take a look at it as food, but they are still a little big to eat.
I’ve had a 210G for a few years now being filtered by 3* Rena XP3 filters. Cleaning 3 canisters regularly can be a quite a bit of work and quite messy sometimes so I have been looking at some other options. Can anyone recommend a higher capacity canister that would allow me to run just 1 unit...
I have a mature Angel fish that seems to be exhibiting the sings of swim bladder for a few days then is right back to normal two days later only to see the symptoms come back a few days after that. I first noticed that he seemed to be swimming cocked to the side a bit. The next day he couldn’t...
All-Glass tanks are pretty common in most pet shops.

I have their 210G and it is very well built. I think they have a 185G too
Ditto on your post
I was just about to post this when I saw yours. I have the same issue with an Angel that seems to be recovering now.
I have a 3 year old Angel fish that was showing sings of swim bladder the last few days but now seems to have made a recovery? It started two nights ago...
When I had Pictus Cats they were much more interested in eating at night once the lights were off. They also arent very graceful eaters. Mine would eat on the run as they flew back and forth across the tank as you describe. It was hard to tell sometimes if they actually eatings they moved so...
I was clicking around Dr. Fosters Smith today and noticed they are selling a self contained Power Gravel Vacuum. Has anyone used this before? I was thinking it might be a good tool for more frequent cleaning that do not require a water change. Below is the link:

I have a 210G myself and it definitly gives you a lot of options. I have a somewhat community set-up right now, but I think if I ever did it over again I would try either a few hundred neons, a large mix of small fish, or a native species tank with perch or small sunfish.
I have a 210G in my basement and a 55G on the main floor. both are covered with glass tops with some openings in back for equipment. Water level usually drops by about an inch on the 55G over the course of a month probably similar on the big tank as well. Both tanks are in the 75 degree range.
Does anyone have problems with their tanks raising the humidity levels in their home. I have a larger tank in the basement of my house and sometime when I come home I feel like I am walking into a tropical climate. Just wondering if anyone else has that issue. Don’t really want mold forming…
I liks Ash's idea. My dream would be to own a substantial amount of rental/income property and manage that.
I thought my dream job was in IT once I got out of college. Now 6 years later I have realized it is not... :)
I would agree with tel0004. Try him in the tank. I had mine in a 10G with a small SAE for a while and he would flare up as soon as the other fish moved. I put him in my 210G community tank and he is fine if not more personable. I also have a large 3 spot Gourami in that tank who could care...
When my Gourami had Velvet it looked like he had patches og gold plating on him about the size of a pencil eraser head. The opaque patches kind of make me think its not velvet but I could be wrong.
I am in the same boat you are in wannabefishguru with the 55G and looking for a more aggressive fish. I think I am going to go the Piranah route like sublime suggested.
