So found a great deal on a tank, problem is guy cut the center brace off it. Tank was used for a short period (photo shoot) then stored in his heated/ac building. Curious if anyone knows where someone could buy a frame? Tank is a marineland 250g.

Yea I know I can prevent them breaking but something that might be little more reliable is always good. I have been having issues with the cheap heaters getting a weird build up on them that’s a hard brown color. Now yes that’s my slack in taking the time to do a quicker wipe down on the heater...

I would love to do no heater route, but my tanks would get slightly cool, plus the one tank will be for turtles. But future looking at having a nice cichlids tank, and then a smaller (75g) planted tank.

Time for new heaters, so decided to ask everyone here what is their go to heater/ favorite heater? Tank I need to heat is a 125g, and in future will need more for a 300g.

I did think of that, what I did like in these tubs was it has a built in land part, now price point is high.

So heater looks fine, guessing static then? How do you handle that?

I’d imagine checking the inline heater is going be difficult. It is a periodic thing, there’s times I stuck my hand in and nothing, then other times it gave me that little feeling. First visual inspection heater seems fine but I’m going be taking it down and drying it to really inspect hardcore.

Then I’d imagine it’s static because if it didn’t hurt me, and the turtle and fish were still fine it had to be that. I will do that test tho describe. If it’s static what is there to do with that?

So let’s break it down as dumb as possible, how to tell difference between shock and static? Because I don’t want to be using wrong term lol.

Just put my hand back in and no shock this time. I guess I’ll try buying new heaters first. Anyone recommend a brand? I was running a in-line and a fluval.

Ok so need little help. I have a 125g tank, houses a turtle and some fish. I run two heaters plus canister filter. I noticed my floating thermometer was broken so I reached my hand in there to get it out and I got a shock, obviously not strong enough to hurt me, or even the turtle and fish but...

Couldn't find new top frame/brace so kept old. Like mentioned nothings wrong with the brace part, it's just the inner lip on the sides that was trimmed horribly. I'll probably make a canopy so I don't have to see the ugliness lol. Yea tank has been empty for month-month and half. I for sure...

Well just put silicone on and peeled off tape. Hopefully it holds, first time doing this tank, resealed other tanks before but they were easier then this one. I'll let it dry for 2 days then fill with water to see if she holds.

Yea so far every company says they can't make. The middle brace is fine so far as support it's ok, it's just the look that I don't like lol. I don't even know make to try the manufacture because it was giving to me by someone else who ripped sticker off.

I have the free time to do, plus I don't have cheap prices like that currently for tanks, unless they wanna drive to NJ for me lol

Well actually I'm having a hard time finding a frame for it. Emailed couple companies and they don't produce the size I need, 24"x48". I'm going try a local fish store to see if they can order one.
