It's the actual motor making the noise. Cleaned it, greased it, but it still sounds like hell. It's 5 or so years old, so I think it deserves retirement.

The tank has two AC 110, and an Aqueon heater. I love the filters and the heater....the filters are old though, so I think they are just needing to be retired. The heater is one of my favorite kinds, so I might try the same heater again. Who knows?

Tested water again. Still 0 ammonia, 0 nitrites, about 15 nitrate. pH is still at pre-death levels, around 7.5, which is good. Everyone is doing great, but with the heater broken, the tank is getting cold. Thinking about buying a better heater, but not sure about the brand...Also thinking about...
