Okay, after losing two Angels in 24 hours, I plan on trying again.

The general recommendation seems to be drip acclimation. But I am not entirley sure how to do this. My general thoughts are below, please provide feedback.

Container About 5 gallons
Spare Heater and thermometer
Airline

Setup the container below the main tank, add the fish and as much water from the store as possible to it.

Add heater and thermometer to the container to bring the temp to same as main tank.

Using airline start a siphon from the main tank into container.

Once done net fish into main tank.

Questions:

Is a 5G enough or too much? The challenge is how much water I will get with the fish. They need something to swim in while the water siphones in.

Do I need to worry about the flow rate through the airline?

Should I just keep adding and draining water until PH match or use some other guidline?

Any other suggestions?

The slower you drip the water the better. Maybe have it around 1-2 drips per second. You can tie a knot at the end of the drip line to control the flow. Just keep the process going until the PH matches your tank. You may have to take out water from the 5gal in case it fills up and the PH has not matched yet.

This is another variation that I learned from an LFS http://www.aquariacentral.com/forums/showpost.php?p=688636&postcount=3

1-2 dps is definitely good. ive never used a heater, but that's an option if you want.

your theory is good, now don't get antsy and put the fish in too quick. ;)
