I have a 46 bow with 45lbs of premium live rock, which has been sitting for 8 weeks. I have lots of stuff all over the rock and lots of hitchkikers.
Last night I saw a Stomatella snail spouting out what looked like smoke signals, then a second started doing the same thing. Then 3 others standing almost straight up with thier feelers pointing straight up started spitting out would looked like eggs. This went on for about 30 seconds, then they disseapered into the rock work. It was really cool!!!!!
It looked like a mating, or egg fertilization, but how they all knew do to their thing at opposite ends of the tank at the same time is a mystery to me.
Since I don't have anything in my tank except a small clean up crew and one false perc (in there for about a week), will they over run my tank? Of course that may not be a bad thing - they keep my glass sparkling clean!
