easiest solution is to move the rock that it is attached too..keep it in a bucket of water while travelling...heat packs if possible to keep the water warm...but that just depends on the distance your travelling...

all my anemones tend to move alot, so in the event anyone of them attaches to the big rock i know wont fit in my bucket, is there a way to simply make them let go.

you could use a plastic rubbermaid tub.

but given a hypothetical scenario where its not possible to move the rock with the anemone, is there a way to get the anemone to just let go, while minimizing stress.

Not really you always stand the CHANCE of ripping the foot. You could try persuadeing the foot to come loose by gently trying to place your fingers under it in an almost tickling fassion, but be VERY gentle.

But to be honest I have never seen a rock in home aquaria that could not fit in a large rubbermade tub/trashcan, if you have a rock larger than a trash can I would LOVE to see your tank!!!
