The stuff that's on it is very hard to remove... it comes back about every week. if all else fails, I guess I'll just clean it each day. Thx ;)

anyone know what it is? I used to get the same stuff on my heater at my old place. I was told it was probably calcium deposits. can anyone confirm that?

you dont need to clean it, its not going to affect the heater. it is calcium deposits most likely.

It's calcium or lime, I used to get it a lot till I started using bottled water. When whater heats up it's saturation level drops. This makes it easier for calcium to form deposits.
