Can someone recommend a good place to purchase siamese algae eaters online? Nobody has heard of them at the LFS. They insist that what I am talking about is the chinese algae eater. I'd much rather buy them locally, but that's just not going to happen in my area.

After doing a quick google search I found some for sale at ****************. Does anyone have any experience with this place?

Another question, how many of these fish do you normally put in a 55 gallon tank?

Current fish load is 3 angelfish, 5 emerald cories, 4 ottos, 1 loner black molly, 2 cherry barbs (lost a few of them in a tank transition ), a chinese algae eater, and a flying fox. Filter is a Fluval 404. The tank is not planted very heavily, mainly amazon swords and some other plant that I don't have an ID on. No CO2 currently. I have 80 watts of NO flourescent lighting. The tank has been established for over a year.

Thanks!

These people say that they have them:

http://www.****************/

I've never ordered from them but I think some other people here have. I have two SAE in my 55 gallon that I found locally but it is the *only* time I have ever seen them here. I've only had them for about six weeks and they have grown from about an inch and a half to over two inches in that time. They appear to like my Otos better than they do one another. They are all the time fussing with one another and then go pick an Oto to sit by. :D

You can find them at http://www.azgardens.com/index2.html also and a few other online fish/plant stores one suggestion I have is to try and find one closest to you so they won't have to be shipped as far with much of the country experiencing winter like temps. You might want to keep an eye on http://www.aquabid.com/index.shtml There isn't any listed right now, but I have noticed they usually have some available

Thanks for the replies, and the link to aquabid.com, that was the first time I've heard of that site.

Tempest, I saw that **************** said they had SAEs as well, and was looking for some confirmation that they were actually SAEs and not something else. Thanks for the info, maybe someone who has ordered from them will respond.
