i have a 55g tank, i have owned the tang for around.. 9-10 days ish. it is eating but it hardly swims around form the first day i got it. it always hid behind a apart of my protein skimmer. i did not think this was anything bad, he would come out a few times to get some exercise i guess. now i think i see some small white dots on his dorsal fin.. WHAT SHOULD I DO??

everything is perfect . 0 nitrite. 0 ammnonia, ph 8.2 nitrate0

HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELPppp

oh btw, its a blue hippo tang

Hippo Tang in a 55gl?

Is your sand white? We noticed white spots on his fins at some points, then realized it was just sand.

yeah buts its an extremely small tang.. not big. when he gets big he wil have a new home if everything goes according to plan. maybe it could be jsut sand...

tangs + ich =bad

tangs have a propensity for ich(I found out)

keep an eye on it..and take a close look..the tang will get stressed with ich
if you do find it is ich..if you can catch it..move it to a quarantine tank and treat it.
there are several methods..from doing large daily water changes to meds to low specific gravity.
good luck
