I recently tried to order an Eheim internal canister (the 2010) from www.Petsolutions.com, one of the few online places I could find that sells the Eheim internals. After several weeks of waiting for the "backordered" item, I emailed them to find out when they might get it in.
I was saddened to learn that that, according the Petsolutions, the Eheim internal has been discontinued. These are really nice internal filters, and the Aquaball doesn't look as easy to maintain as the 20xx line. I'm looking for an online source to find some, but if you like these filters and can get them, you may want to stock up.
I hope the report is erroneous, but the Aquaballs and Eheim internals do seem to overlap quite a bit in functionality...
