I had a PJ cardinal in my 46g for months. 1 week ago, we added a Banggai cardinal, slightly larger than the PJ. 5 days later the Banggai was dead. It looked healthy and was eating plenty. No apparent conflicts with any other tankmates during daylight cycle.
Today, at a LFS, the guy working there told my fiancee that the two cardinals were not compatible. Is this true?
My suspicion, other than possible disease or stress, is that maybe one of the 3 damsels might have bullied it at night (he might have to go anyway).
