got home from work today.....freaked out when I saw the tank. my female platy was swimming crazy!....then i remembered reading about swimbladder issues. i checked water params....nitrites 0, nitrates .5, ammonia 0....didn't know what to do, so I went on the internet and then read that it might have to do with bacteria, so I carefully isolated the platy into a hospital tank half dosed with tetracycline and half-dosed with melafix. I read to put in a crushed defrosted pea, so I put one of those in, 2 hours later, fish is swimming normally again, AND EATING WITHOUT SPITTING THE FOOD BACK OUT.
I saved the day....with the help of the awesome people who put what they know on the internet...YAY!
