So I get my pair of Electric Blue Jack Dempseys Monday-Wednesday and I want to remove my medium size river rock bed, and go with a small gravel bed instead due to theyre a breeding pair and I don't want the fry to get stuck under the medium rocks. What would be a good color gravel to use for this? I was thinking black mixed with light blue gravel. I have a blue background on the tank, with blue moon lights as well for the night time. So I think by going with black/blue gravel would highlight the fish as well as the moon light and background.

i like the mixed back and light blue idea. . . no more than 5% blue, though. just enough to draw the eye and pull the tank together.
