every 2 months I add Riccia from one of my FW tanks into my low end brackish tank (1.004) but have to take out the previous moss put in as its
just starting to go brown and looks like its on its last legs.
Any higher salinity it just breaks up and dies in days. :(

Macros ? Is that the green / red algae using mainly in sumps ?
I think i bought some last week but was sold as sump algae / sea algae,
I not tried it in any of my brackish tanks….yet – looks too weak to me
to handle a drop in salinity but will give it a try !!!

Some do well in high-end brackish, I doubt they'd survive in low-end.

Yes, macroalgaes are often used in a refugium in the sump just so they'll not spread in the display tank. But some grow them in the display tank as well. Not sure they'll handle the SG of a brackish tank but maybe try researching if halimedia or shaving brush can handle the SG you keep. I keep halimedia in the display and it is an attractive plant if it will work in brackish.

I highly doubt SW algaes will withstand low-end BW.
