I don't know why a SW tank did'nt make it into the finals but I find it rather odd since SW tanks are pretty incredible. This is yet another reason I think there should be a separate FW and SW contest with the TOTY being either one of each or the best FW tank going against the best SW tank.

    Q
    Where is the ignore button?

what kills me is that a tank that doesn't meet the requirements of the contest made it this far. I like the tank, and have seen full tank shots of it, but the rules stipulate a full tank shot. at least they did last time I read them. Otherwise, what's the difference from photo of the month?

Brian needs to seriously reassess his idea that "no FW tank deserves TOTY." Not sure how many freshwater tanks you've seen but not all are created equal. To judge them that way is plain ignorant. Take a look at the AGA International competition or the Aqua Forest Amano or Oliver Knott's websites and tell me what qualifies a tank as worthy in your book. The time, skill, and artistry required in the maintenance of those tanks rivals even the more elaborate reef tanks and to "disqualify" them based on the fact that they aren't saltwater tanks is blatant idiocy and discredits the people who invest so much time and work in them.

I agree, full tank shot is needed on #5 before the voting should start.

I figured out what I need to be tank of the year: Rummynose Tetras

To Brian: if enough people voted for them, you would see some SW tanks up for TOTY...

we all voted and these are the standouts! FW can be equally amazing as SW....why are people arguing over this? I'd like a full shot of no. 5, but the aquascaping, from what i can see, is pretty amazing.
