I would go with 2 smaller heaters. You need 3-5 watts per gallon and a 150 watt heater if it stuck on would heater your tank up quickly. Likewise if one fails then you have no heat. Two 75 watt heaters would be a better choice. Even better would be to invest in a Ranco controller.

The $120 spent on two 75 watt heaters and Ranco controller is well worth the money when you factor in how much you spent on the tank and livestock.

I don't like the Visitherm Stealth heaters as they have no indicator light telling you if the are on or not. I went with Visitherm Deluxe heaters in mine.

DrsFosterSmith.com doesn't sell 75 watt heaters so I'd go with two 100 watt units. They sell the Ranco controller as well.

"Minnesota - It Gets Chilly Here"
I guess I should be posting questions about equipment here? Anyway, I wanted to get a new heater for my 28 gal as the current one I have is a cheap piece of junk, so my question was what would you reccommend as a good heater? I was looking at the Reina 150w:

We have 2 of them, a 200 and 300 watt, they work great, they keep the tank temps to within a degree, Visi therm's are also excellent heaters...:)
