If you have 55-80#s of live rock you won't even need the filters. You can use them but you won't need them.
There's no such thing as overkill in a reef system.I would take Grins advice and use 1 to 2 lbs. per gallon,you need 55 lbs or more.You will need power heads for water movement,the norm is 10 to 20 times the water volume.
