Just curious im setting up my 37 gallon reef aquarium. What kind of lighting would you recommend? I know it depends on species and corals... but i just want a Decent light under $150.. any recommendations would be great.

do a search on lighting.. there are many threads on it..

but its all in what you plan to do..

if its just to view fishes you can use the flourecent lighting

for beginning corals you can go with power compacts cuz of its ease of use

and anyhting more serious would require metal halides


theres also an array of DIY lighting, but thats for more experienced hobbyist

What are you wanting to stock the tank with? Different corals have different needs. Clams have intense light needs, fish not at all. We need stock to make meaningful suggestions. Then once you know what you want to keep and know the light they demand you can chose to save up more if you need to, change your stock list to meet your budget or you may find you're at a good budget for your desired stock.
