went to a new place this afternoon and they were selling "blueberry" oscars. they were a very pale blue.. kinda like the palest blue part of the aquaria central pages.
how did they turn blue? GE? "painted"? or just selective breeding?

oh i'm not going to buy them. i just wanted to know what to tell people about them.
i'm surprised they're dyed though.. the coloring was very even, which made me think they were GE. I had never seen them before.
thanks for the info.

The dye method might be a dip rather than an injection which I think would give them a more even coloring.

yeah, they are dipped instead of injected.

i got some "blueberry oscars" when i first started keeping fish. they are dyed and 3 of the 4 i bought died. the lone surviver turned gray after about 6 months, they dont stay blue for long. from the orange markings that showed up later im guessing that it was an albino to start with. please dont support dyed fish. same goes for the "jelly bean parrots"
