Anyone know what type of creature this is? And is it harmful to anything in my tank? It appears to be a type of algae eater, hopefully not a flatworm.

Awww, I don't think they are ugly at all. Mine have bred like mad and I welcome the little babies, I probably see 70 or so at night.
Hard to tell in that shot, had to look around to see where you meant. Try doing a google image search for "stomatella varia" and see if it looks like those. If it does, they are good for your tank.
looks like a stomatella to me too. they actually do have a shell but they look more like a slug, i almost didn't believe it was a shell till i touched it to be sure.
Agree.. Its looks like a stomatella to me as well.. But like Grins said use google it really is your friend when trying to identify things.
