I purchased my first black mystery snail to put in with my female betta. I was so worried because it wouldn't come out of its shell for several hours and now it is moving all over!
It is really cool- fascinating to watch- but, I have a few questions.
First, will he eat algae pellets? How much and how often, and also what else does he like?
I checked the water in the 1 And 1/2 gallon bowl today and ammonia is at zero.
Also, I know snails don't like salt, does this include aquarium salt? My mollies and platys have some aquarium salt added to their tank and I have some pond snails in there and they seem to be thriving-but I wouldn't want to chance hurting this mystery snail-
anyway, I thought I would know what to do with him- but, I realized there isn't any naturally growing algae in my bowl, and I change the water frequently, so, chances are there wont be much algae growth in the future.
anyway, ideas, suggestions, advice greatly appreciated!!!!
who knew a snail could be so cool?
