Hi,
Can i overdose my fish with sodium thiosulfate?
Right now during water changes , i use about 3 6 tablespoon of sodium thiosulfate in my 300 gallon tank. usually i change 50% water.
i'm not sure about the concentration of chlorine in our tap water.
Is sodium thiosulfate safe for fish even in high doses?

thanks.

I am not sure about overdosing but a quick Google search turned up some interesting things about it.
From Wikipedia:
To dechlorinate tap water for aquariums or treat effluent from waste water treatments prior to release into rivers. The reduction reaction is analogous to the iodine reduction reaction. Treatment of tap water requires between 0.1 grams and 0.3 grams of pentahydrated (crystalline) sodium thiosulfate per 10 liters of water.

Dictionary of Cancer Terms:
sodium thiosulfate
A substance that is used in medicine as an antidote to cyanide poisoning and to decrease side effects of the anticancer drug cisplatin.
