I seem to be getting a bit of "Beard Algae" on my drift wood in my planted tank. So I did some researching and found that Siamese Algae Eaters (crossocheilus siamensis) are great for getting rid of this algae. Can someone confirm this for me, because if so I'll be picking up 5 of these little critters for my tank.http://www.aquahobby.com/gallery/e_sae.php

Yo, I wouldn't get 5 or 6, more like 3. They grow to be about 4-5" and need lots of swimming space. 5-6 would be too many for a 55g.

Also, while they do enjoy BBA, that pretty much has to be the only algae in the tank before they will touch it. SAE's are good to control the occasional outbreak, but it's better to figure out why there are occasional outbreaks in your tank. Make sure you've got your nutrients in order.
