I took a sample of water today and put it in a pint glass to see if i could see anything like little critters etc.
I have found something that looks like a minute jellyfish. it moves around like a jellyfish anyway, and it appears to be clear/seethrough.
Its too small to get a photo of though, but to describe it, it looks like a ghost from the game pacman!

Am i being stupid here? could this be a jellyfish? will it be ok in my tank?
What should i do?

Thanks.

Highly unlikely to be a jellyfish, although there are some jellyfish that are only about 1 inch in diameter. As to whether it is good or bad without making an identification hard to tell. Does it have tenticles? Is there any attributes that you can describe to get a better idea what it looks like? Does it float on the surface or move under the water line?
Generally most of the critters that I have seen under a microscope have been benign or are algea or deitrivores.
