in a couple of months i am going to be starting a 125 gallon and i am wondering what the biggest pleco i can keep in there
i will plan around it so if specific ones cant be kept with other fishes or require certain water conditions that is fine

the one that i really want is a sailfin pleco but would this be to big?
if so what size tank would i need

It will be a long time before any pleco out grows a standard 6 ft 125.

I my opinion a sailfin a standard 18" wide 125 might become a tight fit for it. If you can get a 24" wide tank it will fit without a problem.

then what is the smallest size i would need for a common pleco?
just a thought but what is the largest pleco/armored catfish?

i was wondering because i just got a pleco that is at most 1.5 inches and was wondering what i would need because i really love plecos and want to keep him healthy and really want a sailfin
would their be any aggression towards each other?

I have a gold nugget pleco and a green spotted pleco, the gn is in my 37 for now till it gets about 6-7" then I'll move it to my 120. They should get around 11-12". The green spotted is 7" and is full grown, he's in my 120 w/ a 3" common pleco, 2 4" oscars,and 4" pictus cats.

If you have enough hiding places, like caves and such, that will limit any aggression.

It's usually when you get two plecos of the same kind that you have aggression issues, or when there isn't enough caves / hiding places.

just for kicks i read that you can breed plecos in a huge set up with a mud wall
is this true?
