I was always under the impression that with a planted tank the nitrates would be somewhat high. I the past when I test my water, I would always be at ~ 20. Today, however, the tank is sitting at ~ 0. Ammonia and Nitrates are 0 as well. This is rather curious to me.

Does it sound like something could be amiss with it or am I just worrying over nothing?

Thx

ammonia and nitrites should remain at 0ppm, however, nitrates are the byproduct of these processes. Plants use nitrates, my nitrate levels usually hover around 20-30ppm

At the Bottom, gilling rapidly.
The plants actually eat the nitrogen from all three waste products. They prefer the ammonia most, it is in the easiest form for them to pull apart. Since cycled tanks rarely have anything but nitrates they'll go straight for that.
