For months I thought that the big, fat red clawed shrimp in my main tank was a male. I have 2 others in the tank, and figured they were female. Until yesterday my daughter said "hey mom, he is fanning his eggs!".

So unless I have a freak of nature, (s)he is pregnant.

Now I'm not sure what to do. I want the babies, but I'm afraid that moving her to another tank (probably the cherry tank, there are lots of snails in there for her to eat) will stress her out too much and lose the babies. but if I leave her in the main tank, nothing small enough to be eaten will survive. Even with lots of cover.

Guess I should just move her?
