Why do some guppies die after giving birth?

I have a female guppy who gave birth yesterday and looks like she may be dieing. I had another who died a couple months ago after giving birth to a huge brood. Both females were the same age and I have had them about a year and a half.
Incidentally, I have not had a male in the tank for close to 5-6 months. The babies just keep on coming - gotta love guppies!

I don't think so. I have some juvenile fish in with her so I feed often. She has actually been eating more than once a day.

Giving birth is pretty stressfull for livebearers. I sometimes lose Endlers after they give birth.

guppies don't live very long anyhow if I remebered right. And I guess if a person popped bout 50 babies they wouldn't make it either lol

it takes alot of energy to get all 50 fry out...this alone could be the reason
