How many seconds does a 1 to 20 ratio bleach dip take to kill algae?

I don't want to know how long is safe for each type of plant, just a time that it takes for the algae to die.
Please list types and how many seconds it takes to die in a dip solution.
There has to be a death chart somewhere out there?

wow only 20 seconds?
When I read about bleach dips, they always say to dip for 2 to 3 Min's, some plants can only handle 1 to 2 Min's.
That doesn't really make any sense to me since we are not trying to dip to the maximum amount the plats can handle, we are only trying to dip enough to kill the algae and nothing else.

There should be a set amount of time listed that it takes to kill certain types of algae.

From personal experience I would never use bleach again EVER to get algae off a plant.
What happen?

I dipped my Hornwort once and the next day I had the biggest possible mess you could ever imagine in my tank. :eek3:
