So last night I picked up 2 bulldog plecos, but I find today that this could be more than 1 type. I am pretty certain that I have Chaetostoma sp. aff. milesi http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/species.php?species_id=407 and not the smaller Chaetostoma sp. (1) http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/species.php?species_id=318
I need to look at them to be sure, but am 99% sure that mine are spotted like the first link, and don't have stripes like the plecos in the 2nd link. If they are the plecos in the first link, I am having trouble finding out very much about them at all. Specifically what kind of temperature to keep them in, and what type of water they prefer.
I had gone in looking for BN plecos, but had read up on a few different plecos before heading to the LFS, they were out of BN's but had some of the bulldogs, so since I had read they stay pretty small picked up 2. What's strange is that if it is a milesi is that everything I read online says they are rare, and not usually imported.
Anyone keep these? have any information? I will try and take some pictures over the weekend. Thanks.
