Its about as level as you can get it as we have to cater for everyone, not just people whom have Photoshop and top graphic design skills....

Then I guess based on that logic, the entries for the POTM and TOTM competitions should have to taken with lower resolution point & click cameras & not $3000 clunkers with macro lenses.

This is not about POTM or TOTM, totally different comps / ideas / aspects.....Its about an avatar competition which "ANYONE" can enter...

People get a grip already...
you cant make everyone happy, no matter what you do..
the challenge of a contest like this is to test your creativity, not your ability to use special software..

Its like a NASCAR restrictor plate race, or giving the little kid a head start, Its putting everyone on an equal playing field to see who can do the best with what they are given.. I actually did make my avatar in Paint, but then I animated it, all 20+ frames together.. I dont care that I couldnt enter it...

Too bad it's not a competition where people are allowed to actually utilize their skills.

The playing field is not so level afterall.

if it was photoshop probably 6 people or so including myself wouldnt have entered cuase while most can use photoshop there are others that now alot more tricks and skills in photoshop that maye even use it in their careers. Paint just has one set of tools and thats it no fading no smearing no bluring no nothing. many people who entered took 10 times longer to make their avatar and still entered. Sounds like just lazyness to me.
