Hi guys,

I have a 20 gallon tall, and I know that's a bit on the small side for anemones in general. I was just wondering if I could keep some type of anemone until it outgrew my tank, and I would prefer it to be an anemone that commonly is host to clownfish. I have a 2x65 watt PC set up on my tank, and I could try to pile some rocks, and buy a bit more so that it could get up high to reach for light. Right now, it can be about 2/3 of the way up in my tank with the rocks I have.

Thanks!

$eaba$$: I think that even if you could get past the tank size, I would be most concerned on the lighting. I am not seasoned in the keeping of anem's but do believe that the lighting you have would not be ideal. I hope that someone else will chime in. Anem's need really good lighting and water quality and a very stable environment...have you had your 20 up long?

Found a link that might be helpful. It does call out at least one that has been kept under PCs but it is one that will eat your fish, not the typical bubble tip.

I will have to agree with both. While I have successfully kept a Bubble Tip in my 10 gallon nano under 80watts of PC lighting with great success for over a year I would not recommend it. The only reason I did is because I recieved it from SWfish.com as a free gift. I now have it in my 55 under some PC lights but I am upgrading to MH within a week or so. It outgrew my 10 gallon in about a year so I moved it over.
