i made a tank out of a sterilite 12.5 gallon storage tub a while back, and just finished getting it up to 1.012. then i realized that i dont have very many options for it. would a species tank of BB gobies work?

its footprint is 18.5 inches by 12, and its 12 inches high

should i try gobies, take it back to fresh, or toss it?

If you want to try BBGs, you might as well take it back to freshwater so you wouldn't need to spend money on salt.

The only important thing is that you need to adjust to keeping the salinity in between 0 and whatever you keep your saltwater tanks at. Most brackish water fish can handle changes in salinity as it happens naturally in the wild so don't worry about any minor fluctuations.

Acclimating just needs to be done very slowly.

One method is to put it in freshwater, and do water changes using brackish water.

Though I should mention, most of the suggestions so far are low-end brackish fish, generally 1.005 and lower.
