I was selling some things at the local flea market Sunday, and I had two people ask me about hand drawn portraits after they were looking at my work.

Im out of work right now, and wanted the job so bad I quoted them a figure on a large 24''x32'' paper for 30.00! I can draw a full colored figure in 20 minutes in class, so I was going by hour pricing.

I looked up online some portrait pictures, and they all start at around 100.00

Has anyone had one of these done? I was thinking of charging around 50.00 for one figure

I had my daughters done for 30 bucks for an 11x12 picture, best investment I made. I have 2 more kids so I would love to have theirs done as well. yeah, if your good people will pay. I got m daughters done 2 times, once from a guy on ebay, and once at disneyland.

I also have a friend who has a web site up drawing kids and animals. If its a drawing 100.00 is a bit high to me, but a painting is worth it. She charges 100.00 for the painting and 50 for a drawing ( 11x12)

I put my pet portraits at $75 for an 11x14 based on other people's prices, but I haven't really been pushing the portraits. I'll probably cut it to $35-40 if I start actually trying to market them though.

If you feel confident with your skill level I'd say no less than $75 for a 24x32, and that's just for pencil.

Here is some of my work. I havnt worked too much in pencil lately, but I can do pencil. Pastels are my favorite, If you want to see my pencil work, I can dig around the attic for my old pieces.

Below is one of more recent faces pictures. She was a model in class, this was a 30 minute piece. I finished in 25 minutes, get the right music and bam!
