I have a 29 gallon tank that has five Pictus cats and yesterday I bought a Bristlenose pleco to eat the algae in my tank. I have a reddish brown color algae on my driftwood and he has not gone near it yet. Should I be concerned about this? Also, what else could I feed him? (This is also posted on Planet Catfish Forum)

I think since you jsut got him yesterday he needs some time to settle in befor ehe will feel comfortable to come out and eat algae. Be patient, he will eventually eat it.

You can add zuchini, carrot, cucumbers etc. or algae waffers or shrimp pellets for him to eat also. Don't not feed him because you see algae in the tank, they should be fed more then jsut cleaning off the algae.
